Introduction
In July and August, all eyes will be on Glasgow, Scotland as athletes from around the world gather to participate in the Commonwealth Games. The purpose of this webquest is for you to learn more about the history of the Commonwealth Games and, in particular, the depth and scope of New Zealand involvement in both past and present day Commonwealth Games.
Task
You have been asked by the New Zealand Olympic Associaton to design and create a website that New Zealand students might use to learn all about the Commonwealth Games. To accomplish this task you will be required to gather and organize the information needed to build a website of Gold Medal caliber!
Process
1. You may design and create your Commonwealth website. A maximum of 5 pages.
2. Read over the entire web-quest.
3. Your website must cover each of the four parts of the web-quest, namely; History of the Commonwealth Games,
News items relating to the Commonwealth Games, New Zealand's involvement with the Commonwealth Games and
Information about Glasgow (the host city).
4. Each web-quest page has suggested questions you could find the answers to and write about. You don't have to answer all of them. They are there to guide your research.
5. You may use the suggested internet resources, locate others, or use books, newspapers and other media sources.
6. Pictures and graphics may be drawn and scanned, or "borrowed" from the internet. Remember, however, that all copyrights must be respected!
7. Remember, to link your pages in a logical order!
8. When all websites are complete, you will be required to present your website to your classmates. Presentations are to be no more than 5 minutes!
9. Have fun and be creative!
